Secret Code of God Revealed
The Book of Esther is the only Book in the Bible that does not mention the name of God. Martin Luther wanted to exclude it from the Bible based on this reason. It is a short Book with only 167 verses in which the word king is mentioned 192 times, his kingdom is referred to 26 times and his name Ahasuerus or Xerxes is given 29 times. So why is the name of God a glaring omission throughout the Book? Here is why.
The Book of Deuteronomy makes it clear that God has a Covenant with His people the Jews based on mutual respect. He was crystal clear that if His people turned their face from Him and started to worship other gods, He would hide His face from them. Then, “…many evils and troubles will befall them, so that they will say in that day, Have not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?” (Deuteronomy 31:17-18). God had commanded that the nation of Israel was to work the land for six years then rest the land, workers and farming animals for one year. The Jews had ignored God’s command for the past 490 years or, 70 seven-year cycles. Therefore, God allowed Babylon to initiate its plan to conquer Israel and remove the Jews from their land for 70 years. At the end of the 70 years, He allowed the Medo-Persian empire to conquer Babylon, and the Jews were free to return to their country. However, most decided to stay as they had established businesses, farms and had become accustomed to the gentile lifestyle of Babylon.
The problem is, Satan is always looking for a way to destroy the Jews for two reasons. First, they are God’s chosen people and second, it would be from the Jews that the Seed of the woman would produce a Messiah who would crush the head of Satan (Genesis 3:15). The fact that God had temporarily turned His back on the Jews, and that the vast majority of Jews were now located in a gentile kingdom was a rare opportunity for Satan to have the Jews exterminated from the face of the earth. Although God had turned his face from the Jews, He had not given up on them. Thus, we are introduced to a Jewish girl whose Hebrew name was Hadassah but who’s Persian name is Esther which means ‘Something Hidden’.
An acrostic is when the first letter of a series of words spells out a hidden word or phrase. This code can be used as a way to hide a name or a text message only to be revealed to those who are looking for it. The name of God is not only hidden five times in the Book of Esther, it is spelled a number of ways from, “YHWH” or “Yahweh” to “YeHoVaH” to “EHYH to “I AM”. Let’s look at each acrostic and see when, where and how these names are used. Keep in mind that Hebrew is read from right to left. This fact is interesting in that all cultures east of Israel also read from right to left. But all cultures west of Israel from Europe to the Americas read from left to right. This means that all the cultures of the world, literarily face towards Israel!
The first acrostic appears in this way: “And when the king’s decree which he shall make shall be published throughout all his empire, {for it is great} all the wives shall give to their husbands honor, both to great and small (Esther 1:20). This Acrostic is formed by the first or initial letter of each word as the event was ‘initial’ or begins the plot of the story. The name YHWH is spelled backwards because Jehovah is turning back as in overruling or turning back the council of the gentiles.
The second acrostic appears in this way: “And Esther answered, if it seems good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him” (Esther 5:4). This acrostic is also created by the initial letter of each word but this time God’s name YHWH is spelled forward because He is initiating the action. He is causing the Jewish Esther to act and initiate a counter action to that of the Gentile Haman.
The third acrostic appears in this way: “Yet all this avails me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the kings gate” (Esther 5:13). This acrostic is composed of the final or end letter of each word because the end of Haman and his plot to kill God’s people was approaching. The name of God or THWH is spelled backwards because God is overruling Haman’s plans.
The fourth acoustic appears this way: “And the king having been told by Esther of the evil plot by Haman to kill all Jews arises from the banquet of wine and in his wrath went into the palace garden to calm down and think; and Haman stood up to make a request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king” (Esther 7:7). This acoustic is formed by the use of the final letter in each word. But God’s name THWH is spelled forward for God was ruling or moving forward and bringing about an end to this event that was to His liking. Haman immediately understood, “that evil was determined against him” and there was now a reason for him to fear for his life. And we now know that the cause was Jehovah himself!
The fifth acrostic appears this way: “….and the king said unto Esther the Queen, Who is he, and where is he, who does presume in his heart to do so?” (Esther 7:5). Or to put it another way,” wherE dwelletH the enemY that daretH presume in his heart to do this thing to you?” Esther replies, “The adversary {Satan} and enemy is this wicked Haman.” This was the climax of the story. The end had come for Haman and his entire tribe of Amalekites who were sworn enemies of the Jews since their exodus out of Egypt. Thus, the name that is spelled by the final letters is EHYH or ‘The Great I AM THAT I AM’. God told Moses, “…this is My name forever, and this is My Memorial unto all generations” (Exodus 3:14-15). Jesus uses this name 7 times in the Gospel of John. The generation that now found itself temporarily under the rule of Persia was delivered from Haman by the same God that delivered them one thousand years earlier from Pharaoh.
Here is a list of the following phenomena that exists when considering the 5 acrostics as a grouping.
- All 5 acrostics appear in four consecutive words.
- Each case except the first, form a complete sentence.
- Each acrostic is uniquely arranged from the other four.
- Each of the acrostics are words spoken by four different people: Memucan (1:20), Esther (5:4), Haman (5:13), The author (7:7).
- The first two acrostics are a pair having the name formed by the first letters of the four words.
- The last two are a pair having the name formed by the final letters of the four words.
- The first and third acrostics are a pair having the name spelled backward.
- The second and fourth are a pair having the name spelled forward, thus they are alternating backwards and forwards.
- The first and third pair spelled backwards are spoken by Gentiles.
- The second and fourth pair spelled forward are spoken by Jews.
- The first and second pair are connected with queens and banquets.
- The third and fourth pair are connected with Haman.
- In the two cases where the name is formed by the initial letters of the words, the facts recorded are initial in the story and are of an event in which God’s overruling of those events was initiated. In the two acrostics where the name is formed by the final letters in the words, the events are also final and progress rapidly from that point towards the ends that God had decreed. In the two cases where the name of God is spelled backwards, God is overruling the decisions of the Gentiles for the preservation of His people the Jews. And where the name of God is spelled forward, God is ruling directly in the interest of His people even though He is unseen and His manipulation of events goes unnoticed by them at the time.
THE ACROSTICS SHOW INTELLIGENT DESIGN
The names Mashiach (Messiah), Yeshua (Jesus) and El Shaddai (The Almighty) also appear as equal distant letter sequences. This involves looking at letters in a sentence equal distances from each other while ignoring the letters in between them.
In Esther 1:3 counting in 8 letter increments the letters spell the word “Meshiach” the Hebrew name for the Messiah. The number 888 is the number of Jesus in Gematria, a numerological system by which Hebrew letters correspond to numbers. This system can be traced back to Babylon and is part of the Jewish Kabbalah sect.
In Esther 9:17 counting in 8 letter increments the letters spell the word “Yeshua” or Joshua in Hebrew or Jesus in English.
In Esther 4:2 counting in 7 letter increments the letters spell the word “El Shaddai” the name of God meaning ‘The Almighty’ or ‘The Provider’. The number 7 stands for the word/idea of completion.
In Esther 3:10-12 and on a lighter note, counting in 6 letter increments the letters spell the phrase, “Haman and Satan Stink.”
In Genesis Chapter 1 counting every 49th letter, we decode the word TORAH. The same is true in the Book of Exodus. In the Book of Leviticus, the word is YAWAH. In the Book of Numbers and Deuteronomy, the word is HAROT or Torah spelled backwards. Thus, The Books of Genesis and Exodus point forward to God and the Books of Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy point backwards to God.
In the Book of Genesis 1:29-2:9, we find encoded in the text by way of acrostics, the names of 25 of the species of trees that were planted by God in the Garden of Eden. Is this accidental or a coincidence?
While it is true that many books have been analyzed to reveal some codes within their texts, the words or messages are always random and not relevant to the story. But with the Bible, the codes are relevant and provide an in-depth description or commentary concerning the verses in which they are found.
In the Gospel of John, Pilate wrote a sign in his own hand as an accusation that read, “Jesus of Nazareth King of the Jews”(John 19:19-29). He wrote the sign in Latin for all Romans to read. He wrote the sign in Greek which was the common language spoken in Israel at that time. He also wrote the sign in Hebrew for the religious leaders to read. If you take the first letter of each word in Hebrew and read it from right to left, it spells the name YHWH which is the name of God!
DNA is the chemical foundation of all life on earth. DNA is a unique linear distanced sequence of four letters that compose a series 64 code words composed of three letters each. When these code words are deciphered, we can then read and understand what is referred to as our genetic code sequence or genetic makeup.
The night that the great city of Babylon fell to the Medo- Persian army, King Belshazzar was holding a large banquet. As the guest became more and more intoxicated, Belshazzar ordered that the spoils looted from the Temple in Jerusalem be displayed. He then started drinking from the High Priest's cup. During the drunken debauchery that ensued, a hand suddenly appeared in midair and began to silently write a message to the King in a script that no one at the party, including his Magi or Wise Men, were able to decipher. The King’s mother told him to call on the prophet Daniel Chief of the Magi to analyze the writing. Daniel was able to decode the preverbal handwriting on the wall. It stated that the days of the Kings rule was at an end, that he had been weighed and found wanting and that his kingdom was now given to the Medes and Persians. The King was killed later that night by the invading Persian army (Daniel 5:25-28).
In conclusion, the Book of Esther has been intelligently designed to show while God may at times be forced to turn His back on the Jewish people, He will never forget His ongoing covenant with them. God was not among His people in the Book of Esther, but He was still watching out for them and protecting them through circumstances beyond their control. He was always in control as shown by His name written in code throughout the Book of Esther though His presence was hidden. His presence was ultimately revealed to those who study this Scripture in depth.
This is a strategy that God uses throughout the entire Bible and in life. Are the stories and miracles only coincidences, or are they manifestations of His presence? Are there intelligent design strategies in the Bible, or simply the laws of nature at work? Does God silently work using the laws of nature for His purposes, or are the events merely explained away as naturally occurring phenomenon or perhaps coincidence. The Rabbis say that, coincidence is God winking at us. They also say that coincidence is not a kosher word. Therefore, God has left it up to each individual to decide if He is, or is not at work in the world and in their lives. These codes are inscriptions within themselves which make them unmistakably supernatural.
As it was during the ministry of Jesus, the nation of Israel is once again currently experiencing partial spiritual blindness (Romans 11:11). While the coming tribulation period will take place during a time when God has turned His back on His people, He has not forgotten them. The Book of Revelation, starting with Chapter 4, is solely dedicated to Israel and the unbelieving Gentile world. It is a survival manual for those left behind after the rapture of the Church. Revelation shows that God does not allow the nation of Israel to be completely destroyed by the armies of the Antichrist. In the final few days of the War of Armageddon, a small surviving remnant of the Jews in Jerusalem will remember their Covenant with God, repent of their sins, and pray in earnest for the miracle of salvation. This is the event that will trigger the Second Coming of Christ (Hosea 5:15).
