Q&A: Is Pope Leo the Antichrist?

Q&A: I read your article about Saint Malachy and the final Pope. So is Pope Leo the antichrist or is it someone else? Pope Leo does not look like the kind of guy that would be the antichrist. And if he is not the antichrist who is?

First, let’s start with the Malachy’s actual quote. “In the final persecution of the Holy Roman {Catholic} Church there will reign {Pope} Peter the Roman who will feed his flock among many tribulations, after which the seven hill city will be destroyed and the dreadful judge will judge the people. The end.”

As you can see, Saint Malachy did not write that the final Pope would be the Antichrist. He wrote that the final Pope would lead the Catholic Church through perilous times, the seven hill city would be destroyed, and the terrible judge would judge the people. So Malachy has listed Leo as the final Pope, prophesied that the Catholic Church would be persecuted under his reign and that this persecution would end with destruction. Then, a strict judge would judge the people of the earth after which an end would come. Not quite as straightforward as one would like, however, we can fill in most of the gaps using Scripture.

With Malachy’s prophecy in mind, here is a blending of what the Book of Daniel and the Book of Revelation has to say about the end times. Scripture tells us that at the end of this Age of the rule of man, there will first be a Rapture of the Christian Church. This will remove approximately 2.5 billion Christians and as many children just before the seven year Tribulation Period begins. This will leave approximately 3 billion adult unbelievers on the earth. In the ensuing chaos, a charismatic man will rise to power. His calm yet authoritative demeanor and organizational skills will bring peace to the world. He will be universality recognized and hailed as a saviour. He will create a number of peace treaties including an elusive seven year Middle East Peace Treaty. Israel will finally be at peace with its Arab neighbors, and this treaty will allow for a third Temple to be built on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

The European Union and possibly the United Nations will elect him as President and Chief of the Military. Yes the EU and UN both have  positions of President. Combining these two organizations would help to quickly create and implement strategic plans. The initial effort will be directed at stopping regional military forces from taking advantage of the chaos caused by the earth losing two thirds of its population.

This powerful and respected man will challenge the world to use this catastrophe as an opportunity. Now is the time to work together to create a New World Order free from war, famine and economic uncertainties. He will explain that this can be accomplished if there is a universal agreement on a one world government, economy, military force, and religious system. He will explain that throughout human history, all wars and civil unrest have been caused by one or more of these four factors. The majority of the major world powers will agree and give him authority over their combined military forces. He is now the most powerful leader in the history of the world. Thus, He is referred to in Scripture as the World Leader (Revelation 13:7).

Today the EU is the most powerful economy in the world. And, recently they announced an initiative to create the most powerful military in the world. In fact, Germany has requested the ability to develop nuclear weapons. On an interesting note, the second most powerful political party in Germany is the Neo-Nazi Party. The position of President will give the World Leader command of the world’s greatest economic and military power. Power he needs to initiate his plan to build and control the first worldwide empire. And all under the guise of building back a better and safer world.

In order to achieve the final goal of a One World Religion, a major leader of a major religious faith will be selected to oversee negotiations that will result in a coexist religious doctrine. Not a religion approved by God, but instead a religion approved by mankind. It is widely assumed that this man will be the Pope because he already controls the world’s largest religion with 1.5 billion members. And, over that past years, the Catholic Church has made ongoing efforts to reach greater understandings and cooperation with all the world’s major religions including the Protestant Church composed of 1 billion members. The Muslim religion is the second largest religion in the world with 2 billion members. Many modern Muslim leaders believe that their religion is long overdue for a reformation that rejects the current doctrine of indoctrination by force, extreme edicts of sharia law and few civil rights afforded to individuals. Finally, there is the Hindu religion with 1.2 billion members. The Hindu religion is almost completely confined to India. It is extremely liberal as far as accepting the tenants of all religions being legitimate in the eyes of God. Therefore, the idea of forming a one world religion is not that farfetched.

So what will this one world religion doctrine be? According to Pope Francis, “Christians, Jews, Muslims [and Hindus] all worship the {same} one God. Every person must feel free to propose, never impose their own religious beliefs on other people.” The newly elected Pope Leo is in complete agreement with Francis’ views concerning this issue. So, the One Wold Religion will be an amalgamation of all religions. People of every faith will gather together, and in the spirit of brotherly love, worship together. What they individually believe and who or what they are praying to is their own private business and not necessarily open for discussion. This church already exist today under the name of Unitarian Universalism (Wikipedia.org).

The Book of Revelation describes a worldwide religious system symbolized as an immoral {sinful} woman {church} riding {controlling} a scarlet {Catholic} beast {Antichrist} (Revelation 17: 3-6). It is the "seven hills" detail in Revelation that links the false religious system of the end times with Rome and the Vatican (Revelation 17:9).

The negotiator that achieves this goal of a one world spiritual belief system will be considered a modern day miracle worker. In fact, the Book of Revelation tells us he will seem to be able to perform several supernatural miracles when he is in the presence of the World Leader. This feat would make him a Saint in the eyes of the Catholic Church. However, the Book of Revelation refers to him as the “False Prophet” (Revelation19:20; Revelation 20:10). This is because his main goal is to eventually cause the one world religion to accept the World Leader as worthy of praise. After all, what is the problem of including in the new universal religion, one more deity to worship. And when you think about it, would you rather worship a fellow human who is literally bringing peace to the world for the first time, or an unseen God that you believe in through faith?

Three and one half years into the Middle East Peace Treaty, the World Leader publicly announces from the Third Temple in Jerusalem, that he is to now be worshiped as a deity. This event will mean little to most people as there are now few believers in a Creator God on earth. It is then that he becomes the Antichrist. However, Scripture tells us that some Jews and the nation of Russia revolt at his audacity (Matthew 24:15-24). He will defeat Russia and then decides to eliminate all Jews. It is also then that he demands all those living under his control to take an oath of allegiance to him and his NWO. At that time they will receive a tattooed Mark of identification. Only in this way can his subjects continue to participate in his one world economy (Revelation 13:16-17). Those who defy this order will be arrested an eliminated. Those who take the Mark are eternally condemned by God (Revelation 14:11). The Great Tribulation period has now begun and the Two Witnesses on behalf of Christ {Moses & Elijah) appear and begin to evangelize the world (Mark 9:2-4; Revelation 11:3-12).

Scripture is not clear if the False Prophet is the Pope, but Malachy and Revelation do mention “the city of 7 hills” or “7 mountains” (Revelation 17:9). This number of hills has always been a reference to the city of Rome and the home of the Catholic Church. Scripture is also not clear if the False Prophet is initially aware that his efforts to create a one world religion is part of a greater plan to eventually establish the Antichrist as divine and worthy of worship.

The Antichrist will move very quickly to stamp out multiple rebellions. Seven years after the Rapture, the world’s armies will be poised to eliminate the entire Jewish race living in Israel. This is known as the War of Armageddon. The world is now on the brink of total annihilation by way of a biological and nuclear warfare.

It is then then that Jesus will appear descending from the sky followed by His armies of angels and previously raptured followers. The very first thing He does is to have the Antichrist and False Prophet thrown into the Lake of Fire and Satan confined in “The Bottomless Pit” (Revelation 20:1-3). He then gives a command that causes all the unrepentant and wicked of the earth to instantly fall dead (Revelation 19:15). This parallels Malachy’s prophecy about the “terrible Judge will judge and then the end.” Jesus is the Judge and is only considered terrible by the wicked because they are struck dead. The term “the end” is a reference to the end of one Age, and the beginning of another. In this case, the end of the six thousand year rule of man on earth, and the beginning of the Millennial Rule of Christ on earth. Jesus then enters Jerusalem and begins a one thousand year reign of peace, health and prosperity for all mankind.

So, the Pope may or may not be the False Prophet and part of the Antichrist’s plan to establish a One World Religion. If he is part of the plan, he may not initially understand the final outcome. But he certainly should as the Bible is crystal clear on these issues. At any rate, the person that is the False Prophet meets an untimely and horrific fate worse than death.

Malachy seems to be clear that the Antichrist will eventually destroy Rome and the Vatican (Revelation 17:15-18). Let us all pray that Pope Leo does not inadvertently become the False Prophet.
