What to Expect When You're Expecting in 2026
The year 2026 could be the most prophetic since the founding of Israel as a nation in 1948. And here’s why.
Scripture is clear that the End of the Age will begin when Israel believes it is living in peace with its Arab neighbors and the world. The terrorist attacks carried out by the Iranian backed group Hamas, killing one thousand two hundred innocent men, women and infants, plucked the last good nerve of Israel. They decided to retaliate not by simply sending in yet another barrage of missiles strikes as Hamas had mistakenly thought. Instead, they initiated a well designed and through annihilation of all Hamas forces starting in the north of Gaza and slowly working south. The 350 miles of underground cement bunkers that Hamas had constructed over a fifteen year period to survive such an assault utterly failed.
It is suspected that in 2026, Hamas will finally be eliminated. It is a real possibility that Israel may then turn its military forces lose on the Iranian terrorist group Hizballah located on its northern border with Lebanon. If it does, this would eliminate two of Israel's greatest enemies.
Israel bombed both Iran and the financers of these two organization in 2025. Iran has publicly stated that they want peace with Israel and a lifting of the cripplingly US led economic sanctions. However they continue to build nuclear sites that Israel has promised to keep destroying. If the Iranian people rise up and demand a regime change, this would immediately bring peace to Israel. Meanwhile, the US continues to negotiate peace agreements with other Arab countries under the auspices of the Abrahamic Peace Accords. So, it is conceivable that Israel will have finally achieved peace with its Arab neighbors before the year 2028 which will be its 80th anniversary of statehood.
Also to be considered is Biblically speaking, the number eight represents a new beginning, resurrection, and new life. And, if you turn the number 8 on its side, it becomes the symbol for eternity.
It is very interesting to note that Jesus said the “generation” who witnesses the fig tree bloom {Israel reborn as a nation in 1948}, will see the End of the Age. The longest time for a generation is found in the Book of Psalm and it is 80 years! So, eighty years from 1948 is 2028 the year Israel will celebrate its 80th anniversary. And also, during the year 2028 the world will witness three Blood Moons.
But as always, there is a fly in the world peace ointment. Over the past three years, we have seen Vladimir Putin wage a personal war with Ukraine. This unprovoked attack on an independent democratic nation is astounding. The war has crippled Russia’s economy. Putin, along with his administration and military leaders has been judged in absentia by the World Court and found guilty of Crimes Against Humanity. Therefore, they can and will be legally arrested if they set foot on soil outside their country. But even more troubling, Russia has witnessed the wounding and deaths of over one million young Russian soldiers since the war began in February of 2022. And yet, not the first serous protest has taken place in Russia. And, while the country is economically bankrupt, considered a rogue state, and its leadership convicted of war crimes, the latest approval rating of Putin is at 83%!
WHEN WILL PUTIN BE GONE?
If you think Putin will soon leave the world stage, the Bible says you are wrong! Scriptures is clear that the coming End of the Age war will consist of a military coalition called Magog led by a man known by the title Gog. The title Gog in Biblical times meant King of the North (Daniel 11:15; Daniel 11:40; Ezekiel 38:1-2). This is because Gog rules a country to the “far north” of Israel. Moscow is two thousand two hundred miles directly north of Israel as the crow flies. Gog is also referred to as the “Prince of Rosh”. The vowel ‘o’ in the name of this land is sometimes replaced with the vowel ‘u’ or Rush. There are few Biblical scholars who do not recognize Magog as Russia and Gog as Putin. The man and his people have more than proven they are ready to invade sovereign nations even if it means the death of many millions of its armed forces. If Putin were to decide to invade Israel, the Russian people have proven that they will quietly support him. Incredible to believe, but today we now know it is a reality.
WHY?
Like the man said, ”Show me the money!” Israel is extremely wealthy and the envy of all Arab nations. The land was desolate until 1948 when the Jews took over and systematically transformed the land into a veritable Garden of Eden. They invented the “Drip Water System" which has caused a once arid desert land to bloom. Today, Israel is the third most NASDAQ listed country in the world just behind America and China. It has the largest number of startup ventures in the world. It is home to 13 billionaires and over 100,000 millionaires with a population of only 8 million people. Here are the six main reasons the nations of the Middle and Far East will attack Israel. The land is rich in large natural gas reserves (Ezekiel 38:11-13). The nation has extremely close ties with America known to Arabs as the ‘Great Satan’. The Arabs want to annihilate a people who consider themselves the chosen people of the one true God. As far as they are concerned, they are the chosen people of Allah because their patriarch is Abraham’s first born son Ishmael. The Middle and Far East have a history of authoritarian rule, and the successful democratic government of Israel is an embarrassment and threat. And finally, the Middle and Far East countries do not have a history of recognizing basic human rights as does Israel. Peaceful protest by citizens are forbidden because they can and do lead to the overthrow of an unelected administration.
WHO?
The Book of Ezekiel gives the details of how this invasion will unfold. God says that the forces will come up against His people like an enormous cloud (Ezekiel 38:9). When this happens, God states, “I will magnify myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they {heathen nations} will know that I Am {not Allah of Ishmael but} the Lord God {of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob}"(Ezekiel 38:23). Some nations will create conspiracy theories as to how an army of many millions of devout Muslims could be killed all at once without firing a shot. But those who study Scripture will know the truth. God is at work on behalf of His people, the End of the Age is imminent, and the Second Coming of Christ is almost at hand.
The attack strategy of this alliance army of the willing is to quickly invade and overwhelm the Israeli miliary who have become complacent because of the pledged Arab peace agreements (Isaiah 28:15; Isaiah 28:18). The attacking forces know that, while Israel has nuclear weapons, it will not detonate them and thereby forever pollute the holy ground of God’s promised land.
According to Ezekiel, Russia and Turkey will lead this military strike. They will be joined by Iran from the east, Sudan and Libya from the south, and interestingly, Germany from the west. Germany will apparently lead forces from the European Union on behalf of a revived Roman empire. They will participate through both military and financial support. They will do this because Europe believes that only by removing the Jews from Israel can a real and lasting peace in the Arab world become a reality.
HOW?
Israel now looks at the massive invading armies of tens of millions with no hope of survival. However, before they can even drop to their knees to pray to be saved, God creates a spectacular miracle. And this miracle will be witnessed by the entire world in real time.
First there will be monumental earth quakes in the region (Ezekiel 38:19). While earth quakes are common in Israel, these will be so enormous and fortuitous that they will be felt and recognized by the entire world. Their epicenter will literally be directly under the feet of the invading armies. This event will cause dense clouds of dust which will in turn cause mass confusion within the invading army ranks who begin to shoot at each other (Ezekiel 38:21). Next there will be an instantaneous epidemic outbreak that will also debilitate the armies. This will be followed by massive underground gas and oil explosions caused by the earthquakes. These violent detonations will also erupt under the feet of the armies causing burning sulfur and toxic smoke to rain down on them (Ezekiel 38:22). However, this will also happen in the Russian oil fields with fire raining down on Russian cities (Ezekiel 39:2; Ezekiel 39:6). Once again, conspiracy theorist will try to explain this away, but it is clear to believers that God’s mighty hand is at work on behalf of Israel.
Those units of the coalition that were not within the Israeli borders, will quickly began to retreat back to their homelands in the Middle and Far East as well as Russia. But unknowingly, they will be carrying with them the plague which will quickly spread and leave only a small remnant of civilians alive in each country.
The people of the entire earth will watch in horror as these event occur one after the other exactly as prophesied in the Books of Daniel and Ezekiel. The Russian, Turkey, Iranian and Arab armies, along with the majority of their populations, are now decimated. Scripture tells us that the rotting corpses are so numerous in Israel that it will take seven months to bury them all (Ezekiel 39:12). In the meantime, God will cause the vultures and wild animal of the Middle East to congregate and gorge themselves on the dead bodies. The manure from these animals will serve as fertilizer for the grazing fields of Israel.
Russia, Turkey, Iran and many other Muslim nation have now been completely destroyed by plagues, fires and crop failures. This has righteously come upon them because they have been continually complicit is the spreading of war and misery to the chosen people of God both Jew and Christian.
SO WHAT ABOUT THE YEAR 2026?
An interesting consideration about 2026 is that we are now seven years from the year 2033. This year is the two thousand year anniversary of the resurrection and ascension of Christ. This seven year period could very well be the prophesied seven year Tribulation Period. This period is God’s final attempt to cause as many people as possible to repent of their sins and acknowledge Him as their Creator. The Book of Revelation gives us in detail the horrors of the final 3.5 years known as the “Great Tribulation Period”. While the state of the world in the first 3.5 years is not mentioned, Jesus said that this seven year period would resemble a woman in labor. A few random contractions at first, but steadily building to the point of pain and finally agony (Matthew 24:8). He went on to state that the final years would see the worst catastrophizes since the world began (Matthew 24:21).
So, 2026 might be the first year of the Tribulation Period. If it is, then we should expect the Resurrection and Rapture to take place as it is these events that cause the people of the Earth left behind to panic. And it is out of this civil chaos that the leaders of the world unite to support the rise of one man who promises to bring back a world of peace and stability. That man will initially be called the world leader and negotiate many worldwide peace treaties. However, during his recovery from a failed assassination attempt and near death experience, Satan offers him the kingdoms of the world if he will worship him (Matthew 4:8). He accepts the offer, is immediately indwelled by a powerful demon spirit and emerges the infamous Antichrist, son of Satan.
TIMING OF THE RESURRECTION AND RAPTURE?
The Resurrection and Rapture could happen at any time, but many scholars now believe it will coincide with the fifth annual Jewish Feast of Trumpets. This feast will occur at sunset on September 11th through nightfall of September 13th, 2026.
There are some who believe in a Mid Tribulation Rapture. This would take place 3.5 years into the Tribulation Period {July 2029}. At that time, the Earth may have experienced a devastating war. Some scholars believe it will be the Gog Magog War, while others believe it will be WWIII (Revelation 6:8). But in either case, people throughout the world are sick and tired of war and now demand a strong leader. Scripture tells us that at this time, the world leader goes into the Third Temple in Jerusalem and declares himself worthy of worship as a god (II Thessalonians 2:4). This is the official start of the final 3.5 year Great Tribulation Period. If the Rapture is Mid Tribulation, then this is when it would happen. However, the over whelming majority of biblical scholars believe that the Rapture is a Pre Tribulation event as Scripture is exceedingly clear that believers in Christ “do not” go through any of the terrors of the Tribulation Period. The year 2026 is considered to be an exciting one for those who watch the skies.
January: Jan 3-4: 1st Super Moon followed by major meteor showers; Jan 10th Jupiter closest pass by Earth

March : March 2-3rd Total Lunar Eclipse or Blood Moon
April: April 22-23 Major meteor showers
May: May 6th-7th Major meteor showers; May31st a Blue Moon meaning a second full moon in one month

August: Aug 12th Total Solar Eclipse followed by major Meteor showers; Aug 28th Total Lunar Eclipse and Blood Moon.
