“War In Iran”
Iran got itself into its current state of affairs due to a relatively recent set of unusual circumstances.
Persia (founded c.550 BC) became known as Iran in 1935. It was run by a family monarchy with the King known by the title, Shaw. In 1925, a military coup occurred and a military leader by the name of Pahlavi became Shaw. He continued the tradition of autocratic monarchy rule. In the late 1950's the monarchy instituted a series of modernization polices that brought more equality to the citizens and prosperity to the nation. He was pro-West and his military forces were relatively happy. So it came as a surprise that in the late seventies, a series of unexplained public protests broke out for seemingly no good reasons. It now appears Islamic clerics were unhappy with a number of issues. They believed in 7th century Sheria Law which did not afford rights to women, children or non-Muslims. It did not tolerate other religious practices. It saw the Arab race and those who practiced Shia Islam as superior Muslims. By 1979, there were riots in the streets and the people were demanding an end to an imperial state and the creation of an Islamic Republic. The royal family fled in the night and the demonstrations leaders brought in an exiled fundamentalist ceric known as Ruitollah Khomeini (1979-1989). By march of 1979, 98% of the people had approved the idea of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Unfortunately, the constitution gave the Supreme Leader dictatorial rights. In 1989, Ruitollah died and Ali Khamenei became the Supreme Leader (1989-2026).

Khomeini had clearly laid out his dreams for Iran. It was to become the greatest and most powerful county in the Arab world. He wanted to see the Shias sect, 10% of the Muslim religion, become known as the guardians of the only true religion in the eyes of Allah. The nations of Israel and America were to be destroyed by any means necessary - thus his unceasing drive for the creation of an atomic weapon. Iran would also oppose Western democracy and any other satanic influences from the outside world. To achieve these goals, it would be necessary to impose brutal totalitarian and authoritarian laws in order to stop all descension. As an example, 30,000 protesters were killed on January 8th and 9th 2026. But unfortunately for Iran, with total power comes total corruption of that power. According to the World Democracy Index, Iran’s Political Tolerance Level is “0”. According to the World Regime Rating, Iran was rated “Fragile” but has now been downgraded to a “Failed” rating. In the World Government Corruption Index, the future is a little brighter? Iran rates 151 out of 180 countries. Ok, so not a little brighter.
The current war began for two reasons. First, Israel said they were definitely going to attack Iran’s nuclear program if US negotiations failed. Second, the US administration realized that negotiations were at a permanent dead end. Khamenei was determined to create an atomic weapon. America offered to furnish the country with free 5% uranium to power all its nuclear plants. But Iran insisted it had the right to enrich its own uranium up to 60%. Uranium enriched to 90% is required to create an atomic weapon. Therefore, it was clear that the US would now need to assist Israel in their imminent attack as it would put US personnel and bases in harm’s way. It was clear that the Khamenei would rather die and meet Allah than to give up his dream of being able to threaten Israel and America with nuclear weapons.

So, on March 1st, America and Israeli forces made his dream come true. He had left his bunker located five stories underground, to meet with senior staff concerning negotiations. The meeting was held during the day in his palace that served as his official residence in Tehran. His launching to meet Allah was aided that morning by Israeli jets dropping 30 two thousand pound bombs on the palace and adjoining facilities. He was instantly killed along with his wife, daughter, son in law, daughter in law, grandchild and 48 major staff members. This was his wish come true in two ways. First, he died a martyr’s death because he was actively plotting to murder innocent Israelis and Americans when he was assassinated. Second, it was also his dream to take his family with him to Paradise. This is because in Islam {a death cult}, it is taught that to die in the presence of a martyr is to be guaranteed direct passage into Paradise. So I guess it is true, “A dream is a wish your heart makes”. However, one might assume that his family members would have called in sick had they known of the impending missile strike. The list of those who will now inherit an estimated 95 to 200 billion dollars located in grandpa Ali’s biweekly paycheck savings account has shrunk dramatically!
So where does Iran go from here? The nation has a population or 93.1 million people. This makes it one of the most populated countries in the world. However, the birth rate has dropped to an all-time low due to rampant 40% unemployment rates for the young and a failed economy. While gas is ten cents a gallon, no one can afford a car, there are major food shortages, and clean water is scarce as the as the infrastructure has collapsed due to ongoing sanctions. People between the ages of 15 and 64 make up 80% of the population and the median age is 33. So there is some hope for change. About 90% of the population can read, and 58% have degrees in higher education. Recent polls showed that 89% of the Iranian public favored a democratic form of government. There has been a rapid increase in urbanization with 75% of the population living in major cities. Iran has 8 major cities of over one million, and 50 cities with populations of between 100,000 and 1,000,000. The population is somewhat diverse with 61% identifying as Persian, 16% Azerbaijanis, 10% Kurds and 6% Lors. Another hopeful sign is that a large portion of adults do not consider themselves affiliated with a religion and those who identify as Muslims say they are non-practicing. This must be due to the high education rate?
So the “$64,000 Question” is, what will the people of Iran do after the bombing of its nuclear and military facilities ends? It will have no major defense systems still in place. But it will still have 150,000 Special Operations troops and another 200,000 army troops. They enlisted for the opportunity to have two meals a day and a shower once a month. That said, after 47 years of a failed tyranny, Iran will once again have the chance to sweep the slate clean and join the modern world. The population statistics would seem to favor joining the modern world. However, the country was doing well 50 years ago when it decided to hit the “Fool Button”. I guess we could call Iran the first Middle East country to experience what is today referred to as an “Arab Spring”. But the population allowed the rare opportunity of a monarch downfall to be replace with a cruel “Arab Winter”. Theocracies are great in theory, but unfortunately all men, with the exception of one, succumb to the temptations of power and greed. This is why there is a division in the US Constitution between Church and State. Only time will tell if the loudest voices in the room rule the day for a democracy or another Allah forsaken dictatorship.
Interestingly, on Tuesday March 3rd a Blood Moon rose over Iran.
